Dinnage denied a fourth title as Banks goes bang

The Slur Memorial race was held at Parawa on Sunday May 7, commencing the first round of the motocross championship at Mud’N’Tars Motorcycle Club.

With $750 on offer for first place, $500 for second and $250 for third, the Slur Feature Race it was sure to be a blockbuster.

Three time winner Liam Dinnage made his way west from Mildura attempting to retain his title for the fourth consecutive year, while local rider and podium finisher from last year Riley Pitman was also on the prowl.

However it would be neither of them that would take first, with Daniel Banks beating Dinnage in the feature race to take top spot on the podium and win $750.

Dinnage took out second in what was a great race, with Josh McLean picking up the third spot after showing some blistering pace throughout the day.

Pitman finished in fourth, but can’t be too disappointed with himself facing up against some experienced racers.

The club had a great turnout with over 70 riders and lots of spectators crowding the Parawa fences to show their support.

Mud’N’Tars are holding a ride day at Parawa on Sunday May 28, with anyone interested encouraged to come out and have a go.
